'Huss' Kerde Wins South Pacific Open Snooker

Congratulations to Hassan Kerde from NSW who has won his first National Ranking Snooker title defeating Daniell Haenga (QLD) 4-2 in the best of 7 frame final of the Club Marconi South Pacific Open Snooker in Sydney.

At 2-2 in the final it could have gone either way however Hassan never looked like missing when at the table and potted to his usual standard. Daniell missed a couple of key shots in the last few frames that allowed 'Huss' to steam ahead and take the title.

Both Hassan and Daniel played well in this championship having defeated some tough opponents. Daniell had great wins over Glen Wilkinson, Matthew Bolton and James Mifsud. Hassan had a great 3-2 win over Vinnie Calabrese followed by a comfortable 3-0 win over Alan McCarthy.

Well done also to Alan McCarthy (NSW) and James Mifsud (VIC) in making the semi finals.

Semi Finals
Hassan Kerde def Alan McCarthy 3-0
Daniell Haenga def James Mifsud 3-1

Highest Break = Hassan Kerde 116

A big thank you to the Marconi Club for their huge support of Snooker and Billiards as well as to the National sponsors of our circuit - CL&S and Reventon.

This event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the Snooker and Billiards of NSW Board and in articular Dave Waller for his hard work coordinating these events that continue to attract strong representation. And thank you to all the referees and officials and to the fantastic Marconi members and spectators for creating a great atmosphere.
